THE REASON WHY I HAVEN’T MASTERED ENGLISH YET

The reason why I haven’t mastered english yet, because I did the wrong and not effective metods to learn English. Like the most of all English learners all over the world experience, I have the same basic frustation. I have to translate the ideas from their native language English in my head and then thinking the grammar rules. It makes me forget the new vocabularies and make me confidence to speak in English.

There are 3 metods that I have to do to make my English better:

In most language schools and speaking classes, students are asked to do a lot of reading and they are asked to start practicing speaking about what they have read. This is wrong. How can students speak English if they have not heard it spoken correctly. So I have to practicing listening to English. We are able to recognize the differences between sounds and words and pronunciation. This is why many students who don’t have a lot of practice listening to English. Think native English speakers. English too fast and that’s why they can’t understand them when they speak quickly and naturally.

Stop to studying grammar. To improve our speaking, we have to stop thinking about grammar and rules that we have learned. The grammar rules have helped we learn how to write better, but they are not helping us speak better. In fact, these grammar rules are stopping from speaking fluenty because we are thinking too much about which word to say or what tense the word should be in. The truth is our grammar is probably better than most of the native English speakers that have taught you. But our good grammar skills are not helping us to be able to speak English at the level we want to speak at. We waste a lot of time when we try to make a sentence using our grammar rules. When we use grammar rules to speak, it’s like trying to solve a difficult math equation in our head. We are worried about the tense. Should this be future tense? And we spend more time thinking and translating then speaking.

We need to studied phrase, idioms, and slang. There are some important words and phrases that I use in most everyday conversations that native speakers have. If we know only that words and phrases we will be able to speak English better that other people who might know thousands of useless words.
